VR Group acquires MTR Express (Sweden) AB (MTRX) from MTR Nordic AB. MTRX operates on the market of commercial long-distance train services in Sweden and focuses primarily on the Stockholm-Gothenburg route. The acquisition of MTRX enables VR to expand its business operations in the Swedish passenger market from regional contracted services to long-distance traffic.
